Dashcam Fitting Worthing

A dashcam is one of the smartest things you can add to your car. It records everything that happens — in front, behind, and even inside — and if anything goes wrong on the road, that footage is often the difference between a settled claim and a disputed one.

Juicy Car Care provides professional dashcam installation in Worthing and across West Sussex. We hardwire cameras for a clean, cable-free finish — no dangling wires, no suction cups falling off in the heat.

Why Get a Dashcam Professionally Fitted?

Plug-in dashcams work, but they're messy. Cables run across your dashboard, suction cups leave marks, and the camera ends up in a position that blocks your view or falls off at the worst moment.

A professional hardwired installation means:

  • The camera is mounted properly, with a clean field of view

  • Cables are routed behind trim and out of sight

  • The camera is wired directly to a fused connection — no more fighting USB plugs or dead batteries

  • Parking mode is available — the camera records if your car is hit or triggered while parked and you're not in it

  • The whole setup looks like it came with the car

Whether it's a front-only camera, a front and rear setup, or a three-channel system with an interior camera, we'll fit it right.

Which Dashcam Should I Get?

There's a lot of choice out there. Here's a rough guide:

Front only — the minimum most people should have. Records everything ahead of you. Good for proving fault in accidents, catching close calls.

Front and rear — covers you from behind too. Particularly useful in slow traffic, car parks, and for rear-end collisions which are often disputed.

Three-channel (front, rear, interior) — adds a cabin-facing camera. Useful for taxi and private hire drivers, delivery drivers, or parents wanting to monitor younger drivers. Can also capture road rage or passenger incidents.

Parking mode — most quality cameras can be configured to record when triggered by impact or motion while parked. Requires a hardwired connection with low-voltage cutoff to avoid draining your battery.

If you're not sure what you need, get in touch and we'll help you figure it out. We're not here to oversell you — we'll recommend what's actually right for your situation.

Dashcam Fitting FAQs

What is a dashcam?

A dashcam (dashboard camera) is a camera mounted in your vehicle that continuously records your journey. Footage can be used as evidence in insurance claims, accidents, or incidents on the road.

What's the difference between a hardwired and a plug-in dashcam?

A plug-in dashcam runs from your car's 12V socket (cigarette lighter) and can be removed easily. A hardwired camera is connected directly to your car's fuse box — it runs automatically when you start the car, doesn't depend on a socket, and looks much cleaner. Hardwired is also required for parking mode.

What is dashcam parking mode?

Parking mode allows your dashcam to record while your car is parked and unattended. It activates on motion or impact detection, so if someone hits your car or tries to break in, it captures the footage. It requires a hardwired connection with a low-voltage cutoff to avoid draining your battery.

Will a dashcam void my car's warranty?

A professionally fitted hardwired dashcam should not void your warranty. We use fused hardwire kits that tap into an appropriate circuit without modifying the vehicle's wiring. If in doubt, check with your manufacturer.

Can you fit a dashcam I've already bought?

Yes — we'll fit customer-supplied cameras. Just make sure it has a hardwire kit available (most reputable cameras do). If you're not sure, get in touch before you buy.

How do I view my dashcam footage?

Most cameras record to a MicroSD card, which you can remove and view on a computer, or review via a companion app. Some cameras have Wi-Fi so you can connect your phone directly. We'll walk you through how yours works at handover.

Do I need a dashcam if I have insurance?

Insurance covers you, but a dashcam proves what happened. In disputed claims — especially low-speed impacts and "crash for cash" staged accidents — footage is often the only evidence that holds up. It can also speed up claims significantly.
